New Hope First Baptist Church
by David Pooler
This DNOW weekend was a breath of fresh air. We drove down and got to the church there in Cedar Park in the late afternoon. I, for one, was so thankful for the warm south Texas weather! It was exactly what I needed. it's amazing that something as little as that which God provides can reenergize us and get us ready for the weekend, even though we don't catch every little blessing.
I was able to meet my 8th grade boys that night and was excited with the relationships already built between them, not to mention that they were well- behaved (again, just another blessing from God). We had great discussions during the sessions and had a blast playing games and getting our weekend video shot.
Of course, my favorite part of the weekend came up - the concert of worship. The students not only participated, but partook in the worship experience. Walls were broken down, chains were released, and some of these kids came to know Christ for the first time in their life.
After an awesome time with the Lord meeting us in worship, I found myself up at 2am in the morning still talking with students about struggles, relationships, blessings, and commitments. I encourage any of you that experienced God's love this weekend to not forget this love, but also to keep it fresh daily. Get in the Word and fall deeper and more in love with your Creator. God bless, and stay fresh!
We have quite afew pictures!
