Oak Hills Community Church

Glowing Heart has been apart of my life since I was a PaceSetter in 1998. God allowed me to become a member from 2000 to 2004, and now I am a youth pastor getting to experience the lasting impact that Glowing Heart has on students, which could only happen through God's awesome grace.

Glowing Heart came to our church in Floresville March 27 - 29. God definitely allowed a strong connection between the GH members and our students. It seemed like every age group hit it off with their leaders. Throughout the weekend I visited with my students and everyone of them had something to share with me that they had learned from their GH leader. Everything culminated on Saturday night. God was moving and working in the lives of many students who were dealing with a lot difficult issues. Some were into drugs and alcohol, others were dealing with self-esteem which evolved into cutting and suicidal thoughts and actions, some were involved in premarital sex. That Saturday night after we had been singing, Henry separated everyone and specifically named these issues and more. He called people to stand up if they want to get rid of those lies and get destroy what was blocking them from God and what He wants for them. Almost everyone came down to the alter to repent and give whatever they had over to God. That was 3 weeks ago, and I still see those students living out what they committed to that night. For most, that was a milestone in their relationship with Christ. It wasn't a show, or a half hearted promise but a vow to God that they have honored. I can't say that since Glowing Heart came our student ministry is perfect because it's not. I can't say that everyone that said they want to repent hasn't already fallen back into their old ways because some have. But I can say that there has been an eternal change that has happened, and we have students that now understand what it means to be sold out for Christ, to die for Him, to daily pick up their cross, and not to conform but to be transformed by renewing their life. Praise God for His wonderful plan and for those who follow Him and serve Him faithfully.
